Message surely dumping more is safer in that circumstance. And yes, EGTs to surely rise with retarded timing (something most people don't realize and question when you tell them as you know) :)

I just wish Greg would go more into why lowering the timing during detonation is a bad thing. It's clear there must be more to it than just the cylinder temps because I'm seeing what you're saying.

It all boils down to something very simple that gets lots in debate. If we're talking solely about UNTUNED chips here, we're also talking about cars that aren't modified with huge turbos and extensive fuel system changes/tuning. Right? In that case, there hasn't been any real issues with the safety of JWT chips. NONE. The problems that have come up lie with extensively modified cars that either should have had tuning/tuned chips or were mistreated with improper gas or shotty construction/maintaining.

This isn't what chip is better than the other, I'm just trying to explain to Haken that the JWTs aren't unsafe or crap. As much as people like to stick with brands, some of us anal people aren't stupid. If there's SOUND proof/science behind one thing being bad and one being good, we'll change! No doubt about it. That's not the case here.
